Iranian official: Iran’s nuclear industry indigenized

(VOVWORLD) - Iran's nuclear industry has been entirely indigenized, a senior official at the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI) said on Sunday.

100% of Iran's nuclear industry activities has been indigenized and, today, Iran is self-sufficient in designing and manufacturing various kinds of centrifuges, said Ali Asghar Zare'an, special assistant to the AEOI head. He added thousands of centrifuges are running at Iran’s Natanz and Fordow nuclear facilities while other countries were not willing to give Iran a single centrifuge.

With US President Donald Trump's unilateral withdrawal of the US from the Iranian nuclear agreement (JCPOA) in 2015 and increased sanctions against Iran, Iran retaliated by exceeding the amount allowed under the nuclear deal.
