Israel announces next phase of Gaza conflict
(VOVWORLD) - The Chief of the General Staff of the Israel Defense Forces said on Sunday they plan to move forward with “Operation Gideon's Chariots”, launched in mid-May, and will concentrate operations in Gaza City.

During a field tour in Gaza, Lieutenant General Eyal Zamir also reaffirmed Israel’s objective of defeating Hamas.
Israeli Army Radio reported that residents will be evacuated before troops encircle and capture the area in coming weeks. Tens of thousands of reservists will bemobilized for the operation.
