(VOVworld) – Israeli Defense Minister Moshe Yaalon has cancelled the purchase of 6 US V22-Osprey aircraft. This could further chill the already frosty relations with Washington, Israeli media said Thursday.

Israel agreed to buy 6 V22-Osprey aircraft during a visit by US Defense Secretary Chuck Hagel to Israel in April, 2013. If the purchase went forward, Israel would become the first country outside the US to deploy them. The V-22 Osprey is an advanced vertical takeoff and landing transport aircraft which would improve Israel’s combat capacity.
