(VOVWORLD) -Officers and staff of the Settsu patrol ship and the Japan Coast Guard led by Deputy Commander Major General Nagai Nobukazu visited Vietnam’s Coast Guard Region 2 Command stationed in the central province of Quang Nam Province on Friday.

Receiving the delegation, Commander Colonel Tran Quang Tuan said that the visit is a good opportunity for the two sides to share and learn experiences in law enforcement at sea as well as enhance exchanges, cooperation and mutual understanding between the coast guard forces of Vietnam and Japan.
The Japanese guests called at patrol ship 8002 at Port 21 and played a friendly volleyball match.
On Monday, 52 officers and sailors onboard Settsu began a six-day visit to the central city of Da Nang, where they paid a courtesy visit to local leaders and engaged in exchange and training activities with Vietnamese soldiers.
In recent years, the two countries' coast guard forces have conducted joint activities in search and rescue, and crime suppression skills at sea.
