Lawmakers call for more incentives for digital technology industry growth

(VOVWORLD) - National Assembly deputies have proposed encouraging the sustainable development of the digital technology industry based on a circular economy model, reducing energy consumption and emissions, and producing environmentally friendly digital technology products and services.

Discussing the draft Law on the Digital Technology Industry on Friday, they emphasized mobilizing investment resources for mastering technologies in the digital technology industry; enhancing the competitiveness of digital technology enterprises; and participating in high-value-added stages of the global value chain.
Deputy Tran Thi Thanh Huong said the draft law has promptly institutionalized Resolution 57 of the Politburo on breakthroughs in the development of science, technology, innovation, and national digital transformation. It includes many exceptional preferential mechanisms for special projects; encourages the shift from assembly and outsourcing to innovation, design, and production in Vietnam.
I propose that the Government introduce even more incentives to make the digital technology industry a key economic sector, ” she said.
