Libyan children need urgent humanitarian assistance: UNICEF

(VOVWORLD) - The humanitarian situation in Libya continues to deteriorate, with an estimated 380,000 children in need of life-saving assistance and protection throughout 2018, UNICEF confirmed in a report published Tuesday.

The report said children are at risk of abuse, violence, human rights violations, vulnerable to recruitment by armed groups and lacking the most basic of services. The report also called for more protection and care for children throughout Libya.

UNICEF is appealing for 20 million USD to provide children throughout the country with immediate life-saving assistance as well as long term medical and psychological support, education, protection, and sanitation and water services.
