Live broadcast honors Vietnam’s Labor Union

(VOVworld) – A live broadcast connecting Hanoi, the northern coastal province of Quang Ninh, and Ho Chi Minh City took place on Monday to honor Vietnam’s Labor Union.

The program reproduced the construction and development of the Vietnamese working class, the country’s labor union through which to reaffirm its important role in the national independence, construction, and defense. The show contributed to fostering the education of patriotism and revolutionary tradition for the working class, trade union members, especially among younger generations to inspire their trust in the Party and the country’s reforms.

Addressing the opening ceremony, Dang Ngoc Tung, Chairman of Vietnam General Confederation of Labour, highlighted the function of the trade union as a representative to protect the legitimate rights and benefits of laborers. Tung noted that the union has expanded its operation scale to match the rapid development of various types of businesses. He added that the union has promoted its activities at the grassroots levels and introduced outstanding workers for Party admission while its charity programs have been conducted regularly.

The program was attended by President of the Vietnam Fatherland Front's Central Committee Nguyen Thien Nhan and Vice President Nguyen Thi Doan.
