Luxembourg PM underscores fintech cooperation with Vietnam

(VOVWORLD) -Luxembourg Prime Minister Xavier Bettel on Friday visited Ho Chi Minh City Stock Exchange, where he toured the building and hit the gong to open the trading session.

Prime Minister Bettel praised the development of Vietnam's stock market over the past 22 years and said that Luxembourg has supported the training of experts in this field as well as promoted financial cooperation between the two countries. The PM emphasized the need to strengthen linkages between Luxembourg and Vietnam. 

“It’s to act collectively to protect our environment and fight climate change. The collectiveness is very important. Luxembourg's financial technology has been a success story. It’s planning a mission to Ho Chi Minh City this year to seek future partnership. And also your minister of finance will visit Luxembourg in a short future to see how we can deepen our relations,” Bettel said. 

After the visit to the Ho Chi Minh City Stock Exchange, Prime Minister Bettel attended the Vietnam-Luxembourg Business Forum co-organized by the Ministry of Industry and Trade, the Luxembourg Chamber of Commerce, and the Belgium- Luxembourg Business Association in Vietnam.

On the same day, the Luxembourg delegation went to Ben Thanh market, toured the Saigon River, and visited the War Remnants Museum in Ho Chi Minh City.
