Addressing a ceremony to launch the new school year at Trung Vuong secondary school in Hanoi, President Tran Dai Quang said education is the foundation of national development and the decisive factor in the nation’s future.

President Quang noted that the Party and State have always made education a top national policy in order to help the country move forward.

"It’s vital to offer students a safe educational environment to nurture their intellectual, physical, moral, social, and aesthetic development. Teachers, parents, and the community should be involved in education," he said.

The same day, National Assembly Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan attended a new school year ceremony at Le Ngoc Han secondary school in My Tho city, Tien Giang province. She said: "Tien Giang education authorities and Le Ngoc Han secondary school need to recruit highly-qualified and morally upright teachers and school staff. Teachers should continue to learn and improve their teaching methods to become shining models of creativity and morality."

Speaking at a ceremony at the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics, Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc stressed the crucial role of the establishment in training Party and State officials.

“The Academy is the only national education center in Vietnam specializing in training leaders for the entire political system. It also serves as a national research center for Marxism-Leninism, HCM thoughts, and political sciences,” Mr. Phuc said.

The Prime Minister asked the Academy to conduct research projects on Vietnam’s renewal process to help improve the Party’s leadership and management capacity.

72 years ago, on September 5, 1945, President Ho Chi Minh sent a letter to all students to celebrate the first school year of independent Vietnam.
