Nguyen Thi Thuy’s family begins their workday as early as 1 or 2 a.m. to meet the market's demand for Tet. Each family member takes on a role—preparing the batter, pouring the batter into molds, and drying the rice paper under the sun.

"On normal days, I work alone, but now it needs my husband’s help. During Tet, we work twice as much, all the way until New Year’s Eve. Our products are sold in Tien Giang, An Giang, Dong Thap, and Can Tho, with Can Tho being the largest market," said Thuy.

Rice paper is indispensable in ancestral offerings and meals in southern Vietnam during Tet.

"Rice paper making is a traditional craft passed down from our ancestors and part of Ben Tre’s culinary culture. Seeing rice paper drying in the sun brings a festive atmosphere and excitement," said Nguyen Thanh Huy from a family with generations of experience in this trade.
