National Assembly Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan (R) received Deputy Chairwoman of the Federation Council of Russia Karelova Galina Nikolaevna in Hanoi on January 18, 2018

At a reception in Hanoi on Wednesday for Deputy Chairwoman of the State Duma of Russia Epifanova Olga Nikolaevna and Deputy Chairwoman of the Federation Council of Russia Karelova Galina Nikolaevna, who are in Vietnam for the 26th Annual Meeting of the Asia-Pacific Parliamentary Forum (APPF-26), the Vietnamese top legislator suggested that both sides work harder to increase two-way trade to 10 billion USD by 2020. She called for the Russian parliament’s necessary legal assistance to sign an agreement on food quality control, making it easier for Vietnamese export of agricultural produce and seafood to Russia. 

Ms. Ngan urged the two legislatures to continue working closely within the framework of the multilateral parliamentary cooperation such as the International Parliamentary Union and the Asia-Europe Parliamentary Partnership Meeting.
