The NA also ratified the Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership (CPTPP). In her closing remarks, National Assembly Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan said: "The NA’s year-end meeting reviewed the mid-term implementation of NA resolutions on socio-economic development and the State budget. Despite difficulties and challenges, the economy in 2018 and the last three years has seen sustained and comprehensive growth. The restructuring of the economy has had positive outcomes, with all targets reached or exceeded. Defence and security have been maintained and Vietnam’s status in the region and the world has risen.”

During the session, the NA reviewed implementation of the NA resolutions on thematic supervision and question-and-answer sessions since the beginning of the tenure.

“The deputies held a vote of confidence on each official elected or approved by the NA," Ms. Ngan said, "The sixth session was well conducted. Debates took place in a democratic and responsible manner, closely followed by citizens nationwide. The session’s outcomes have consolidated the solidarity and consensus in realizing tasks set for next year and the 2016-2020 tenure.”

Before the session ended the deputies voted to approve the Law on Amendments and Supplements to Laws concerning planning, the revised Law on Anti-corruption, and the revised Law on People’s Public Security Forces.
