Journalists from all over the country shared the joy of visiting Ho Chi Minh City, which was hard hit by the COVID-19 pandemic  and is now recovering strongly. They brought to the Festival their best journalistic works, which won acclaim from the public and the Jury. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Dinh Thi Thu Hang, Dean of the Faculty of Radio and Television at the Academy of Journalism and Communications and a member of the jury panel, said the entries are rich and diverse, covering the key issues and events of the country and the lives of the people, “unleashing the breath of life onto radio waves.”

"This year, entries reflected the realities of life in a timely manner. For example, a few days ago, we mourned the fire police soldiers who died in Hanoi. This tragic event, which was immediately relayed on live radio at the Festival, left the jury and audiences with tremendous emotions.  Those profound images and deep emotions that were portrayed in the radio program are very impressive,” Hang said.

The just-concluded National Radio Festival showed the public that radio programs can be accessible through such digital platforms as Web page, app, and social network. Pham Manh Hung, Vice President of Voice of Vietnam, said there is a very clear innovation.

“The broader goal is to create widespread public interest in the radio industry and especially the interest of leaders of localities and ministries, so that they will better understand us, better understand the role and mission of radio. We also show people the role and position of radio in daily life, in the socio-economic development of the country as a whole and of each locality in national construction and defense,” he said.
