New Zealand site applauses Vietnam’s fight against COVID-19

(VOVWORLD) - Vietnam has recorded just over 300 cases of coronavirus, with no deaths, reported New Zealand website nzherald.co.nz.

In late January, when Vietnam recorded its first two cases of coronavirus, the Government imposed sweeping measures to control the spread of the virus, it said.

According to the report, the success in Vietnam is down to clear communication from the Government, which came early. The Government warnings were frank with residents about the dangers of coronavirus and the lack of broader medical and clinical resources if a large outbreak were to take hold.

Also attributed to the country's success was massive, early, large scale testing.

The site quoted Matthew Moore, a Hanoi-based official from the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) as saying that the country had "great confidence" in the Government.
