They called for full implementation of Minsk peace accords on the Ukraine crisis and proposed leaving open a possible expansion of the accords’ time-limit by 2016.

The meeting was concluded without any deal. At a joint press conference, German Chancellor Angela Merkel said that the parties could be satisfied about the meeting’s results. She said all specific issues were discussed and all parties narrowed their differences. Merkel said no articles of the peace accords were fully implemented. As a result, she left open the time limit. Meanwhile, in a separate press briefing, Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko said that during the meeting, parties agreed to clear mines in Donbass area with the support by Germany and France. Poroshenko expressed his hope that a vote by opposition forces will not take place on October 18.
