Minju Chosun carried an editorial titled "Let's safeguard peace and security of the Korean Peninsula," as the North marks the 69th anniversary of the outbreak of the Korean War.

The article affirmed North Korea’s consistent position, which is to establish new ties between the two Koreas and build an enduring and robust peace on the peninsula in line with the needs of a new century. It added that should the South genuinely hope for improvement in cross-border relations, it should faithfully enforce past bilateral agreements aimed at fostering reconciliation and reducing military tensions.
On the same day, South Korea’s Ministry of Patriots and Veterans Affairs commemorate the 69th anniversary of the outbreak of the Korean War in Seoul.
