On Thursday, the 57 member states of the OSCE decided by consensus to extend its mandate until March 31, 2018. The OSCE said in a statement that the mission will continue to press for reduced hostilities and continue to report on developments on the ground, including violations of truce agreements. A budget of around 105 million euros has been approved for the mission.

The OSCE, a security and human rights watchdog that includes both Russia and Ukraine as members, has been monitoring the conflict in eastern Ukraine since March 2014.
