Outstanding intellectuals honored for contributions to science and technology development

(VOVWORLD) - 135 outstanding scientists at home and abroad were honored at a ceremony in Hanoi on Wednesday for their contributions to scientific research and technological advancements.

Addressing the event, the 5th edition, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man praised intellectuals’ great contributions to national development.
Chairman Man said that globalization is helping Vietnamese science and technology integrate with international science and technology, facilitating the exchange of experience and scientific and technological achievements, but globalization also poses many new challenges.

He asked Vietnamese intellectuals to change their thinking to make science and technology the driving force for national development.
“The Vietnam Union of Science and Technology Associations will continue to gather, unite, and promote the creativity of intellectuals and scientists at home and overseas and strengthen patriotic emulation movements to further contribute to national socio-economic development and ensuring national defense, security, and foreign affairs,” said Mr. Man.
