Over 30,000 march for climate actions in South Korea
(VOVWORLD) - More than 30,000 people joined a march on Saturday in Seoul, demanding the South Korean government to take more drastic action to combat global climate change. It was the largest march ever in South Korea to date.

The protesters held high banners reading "Climate justice," "Protect our lives!".
Last month South Korea's Supreme Court ruled that the country's climate change law failed to protect basic human rights and lacked goals to protect future generations.
South Korea, which aims to be carbon-neutral by 2050, is the biggest coal polluter after Australia among the Group of 20 big economies, with a slow adoption of renewable energy. The government last year lowered its 2030 targets for curbing industrial greenhouse-gas emissions but kept its national goal of cutting emissions by 40% from 2018 levels.
Seoul has recorded its 37th tropical night this summer. Tropical nights occur when the temperatures remain above 25 degrees Celsius between 6 p.m. and 9 a.m. the following day.
