Chingay Parade 2025, part of Singapore's Lunar New Year celebrations, will be held on February 7-8 with the theme of “Joy” celebrating connections across communities, generations, and cultures. According to Ta Thuy Lien, Head of the Liaison Committee for the Vietnamese Community in Singapore, 40 Vietnamese artists will join a performance blending tradition with modernity.
Lien said: "The Vietnamese community’s participation in Chingay Parade 2025 strengthens Vietnam-Singapore ties through cultural exchange. It’s a chance for the Vietnamese community to showcase solidarity, and pride in their heritage, and promote Vietnamese culture, contributing to the unity and growth of Singapore’s multicultural society."
Ms. Lien said that the Vietnamese community’s performances at this year’s festival will highlight Vietnamese culinary culture through costumes, props, and storytelling. Iconic dishes like pho (noodle soup), banh mi (sandwich), and nem (spring rolls) will be featured.
