Overseas Vietnamese turn their hearts to flood-hit people in central region

(VOVWORLD) - Vietnamese Buddhists in Laos held a requiem in Vientiane on Friday for people and soldiers killed by flooding and landslides in Vietnam’s central region.

21,500 USD and necessities were raised at the event for flood victims. 

“Our hearts and minds are with our fellow citizens in flood-hit areas. We have made donations to share their burden and wish they can quickly overcome the consequences of natural disaters and stabilize their lives,” said Nguyen Thi Hoa, an overseas Vietnamese in Vientiane.

The same day Vietnamese people in the Czech Republic donated over 43,000 USD to help people in Quang Binh, Quang Tri, Thua Thien-Hue, and Ha Tinh provinces and the Vietnam Fund for the Poor.

The Association of Vietnamese people in the Czech Republic has established a Committee to receive donations for the flood victims.
