President Phuc met the Vietnamese community in Seoul on Sunday shortly after he arrived in the Republic of Korea for a state visit. 

He told participants that during meetings with the Korean leaders, he will ask them to continue supporting the Vietnamese community here, protect the legitimate interests of Vietnamese people, including conditions on visas for Vietnamese students. The President urged the Overseas Vietnamese to stay united and support each other more.

President Phuc stressed the significance of his trip as both countries are celebrating the 30th anniversary of the establishment of their diplomatic relations and the visit will provide an opportunity to work towards upgrading this relationship, which he said is in the best development stage with deep trust and effective and comprehensive cooperation.
