Party chief given state welcome in Laos’ Vientiane

(VOVWORLD) - Vietnamese Party leader To Lam, his wife, and a high-ranking Vietnamese delegation arrived in Vientiane on Monday to begin a State official visit to Laos and attend the 50th National Day celebration of Laos.

Mr Lam will also co-chair a high-level meeting between the Communist Party of Vietnam and the Lao People’s Revolutionary Party. The official welcome ceremony was held at the Presidential Palace in Vientiane with the highest protocol reserved for a head of state.

Earlier the same day, upon arrival in Vientiane, General Secretary Lam and his entourage laid a wreath at the Unknown Soldiers’ Monument to honor those who sacrificed their lives for Laos’ national liberation and development.
On Monday, Mr. Thongloun Sisoulith presided over a ceremony to present the National Gold Order, the highest decoration of Laos, to Vietnamese Party chief To Lam.
