(VOVWORLD) - Party General Secretary To Lam arrived in Vientiane on Monday for a State visit to Laos, where he will attend the 50th anniversary of Laos' National Day (December 2) and co-chair a high-level meeting between the Communist Party of Vietnam and the Lao People's Revolutionary Party.

The two-day visit is made at the invitation of General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party and President of Laos Thongloun Sisoulith.
It is one of Vietnam's momentous foreign affairs activities in 2025 and marks the first State visit to Laos by General Secretary To Lam in his new position.
The trip continues to affirm the determination of the leaders of the two Parties and countries to inherit and promote the great friendship, special solidarity, and comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and Laos.
The Laos-Vietnam Friendship Cultural Program was held in Vientiane on Sunday to mark the 50th anniversary of Laos' National Day. It was attended by Party General Secretary and President of Laos Thongloun Sisoulith, Lao Prime Minister Sonexay Siphandone, plus senior leaders of the Lao Party and State, and Vietnamese Ambassador to Laos Nguyen Minh Tam.
