Party leader congratulates Military Region 9 on its 80th anniversary
(VOVWORLD) -Party General Secretary To Lam, who is also Secretary of the Central Military Commission, delivered a speech at a ceremony marking the 80th traditional day of the armed forces of Military Region 9 (December 10) on Monday in Can Tho.

Congratulating their achievements over the past 80 years, the Party leader emphasized that the task of defending the Fatherland and building the Army and Military Region 9 in particular, is more demanding amid new challenges.

“Focus on building a revolutionary, elite, modern Military Region 9 armed forces, taking politics as the basis to improve overall quality and combat strength. Focus on innovation, improve the quality of combat training, mettle, physical strength and technical and tactical level. Master weapons and equipment, especially new and modern weapons, and be well-prepared in all conditions and situations. In the new development space, new situations and tasks, special attention must be made to enhance the sci-tech qualification of troops in training and combat readiness,” Mr. Lam gave instructions.
The General Secretary requested the Military Region 9 to regularly do a good job in mass mobilization, strengthen the solidarity between the army and the people, and build a solid people's support base.
