Petrovietnam must lead drive toward double-digit growth: PM
(VOVWORLD) - Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh called on the Vietnam National Industry-Energy Group (Petrovietnam) to serve as a pillar and take the lead in achieving Vietnam’s goal of double-digit economic growth, helping drive other industries forward and build a comprehensive oil and gas development ecosystem.

Speaking at a conference in Hanoi on Friday reviewing Petrovietnam’s 2025 production and business performance and outlining tasks for 2026, PM Chinh urged the group to pioneer in institutional reform; the application of science and technology; digital transformation; green transition; and expansion into renewable energy and hydrogen.
He also called for the comprehensive adoption of a modern, smart governance model.
Petrovietnam should spearhead restructuring efforts, optimize production and business efficiency, and deepen participation in global value chains, the PM said.
He further stressed the need for the group to set an example in practicing thrift and preventing wastefulness, and to build a clean, strong corporation committed to long-term sustainable development.
