Photo exhibition on Vietnam’s maritime sovereignty opens in Can Tho

(VOVworld) – Nearly 200 exhibits claiming Vietnam’s sovereignty over the East Sea and Hoang Sa (Paracel) and Truong Sa (Spratly) archipelagoes are on display at an exhibition which opened in Can Tho on Tuesday.

 The exhibits include 90 old maps and more than 100 documentary photographs, documents, and artifacts depicting the two archipelagos as part of Vietnam’s territory. The photos portray the life of Vietnamese soldiers and people in Truong Sa and the activities of local authorities on land. A special collection of 100 photos features Vietnamese culture and rituals. Dang Thai Hoa is Director of the Municipal Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism: "Apart from the exhibition, local authorities and organizations will continue to improve public awareness about Vietnam’s maritime sovereignty. The Department will display banners and promote slogans to help young people in particular to better acknowledge our national maritime sovereignty"
