Phu Quoc island’s development drives Kien Giang’s socio-economy toward
(VOVworld) – Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc worked with Kien Giang province’s authorities on Wednesday on the province’s socio-economic development tasks, administrative reform, and the fight against smuggling, trade frauds, and crimes.

Mr. Phuc asked Kien Giang province to restructure its economic sectors and improve business climate to lure more investors. The province needs to accelerate construction projects to respond to climate change and increase the competitiveness of its farm produce in the current international integration, especially when the ASEAN community is formed by the end of this year.
Phuc urged Kien Giang to focus its investment in Phu Quoc island, of which the development will drive the provincial socio-economy toward. He asked Kien Giang to review 5 years of implementing the Politburo’s directive on crime prevention to draw lessons for future operations.
