Plane carrying Iranian President crashed due to bad weather and overload

(VOVWORLD) - Iran’s investigation into the May helicopter crash that killed President Ebrahim Raisi has found it was caused by bad weather and overloading, Iran's semi-official Fars news agency said Wednesday, citing an official.

The investigation showed that the plane was carrying two more people than the regulations allow.

On Wednesday, the Iranian Parliament approved a new Cabinet of 19 ministers nominated by new President Masoud Pezeshkian. This is the first time since 2001 that the Iranian Parliament has approved the entire Cabinet list nominated by a President. The new Cabinet list was submitted by President Pezeshkian on August 11, two weeks after he was sworn in as President of Iran. In the new Cabinet, veteran diplomat Abbas Araqchi will hold the position of Foreign Minister.
