(VOVworld) – A festival themed “Hanoi’s cultural, sports, and tourism festive days in Dien Bien” took place over the weekend in Dien Bien City as part of activities to mark the 60th of the Dien Bien Phu victory.

On this occasion, a parade along Vo Nguyen Giap road attracted 300 local artists and students. The festival included an exhibit of 120 photos praising the victory, the beauty of nature and laborers, and the friendship between Hanoi and Dien Bien province. The festival’s closing ceremony on Sunday featured a traditional art program themed “white bauhinia flowers” in praise of the Party, President Ho Chi Minh, General Vo Nguyen Giap and the significance of the Dien Bien Phu victory.
The soldiers and local people of Dien Bien are being offered free movie screenings by Hanoi’s mobile film projection team this week. Meanwhile in Hanoi, 500 free tickets for a special music program to be held later this week are available for former Dien Bien soldiers.
