(VOVWORLD) -Green growth is an inevitable trend, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh said and stressed the need to mobilize all resources, the involvement of the entire society and people, and boost international cooperation to deliver Vietnam’s commitments to emission reduction.

Prime Minister Chinh, head of the National Steering Committee for implementing Vietnam’s commitments at the 26th UN Climate Change Conference (COP26), chaired the fifth meeting of the committee in Hanoi on Wednesday.
He urged the prompt improvement of institutions and policy mechanisms to mobilize resources, especially public-private cooperation for green growth. The Steering Committee evaluated the implementation of Vietnam's commitments at COP26, the tasks set out at the 4th Meeting of the Steering Committee, the implementation the Just Energy Transition Partnership (JETP) and the Asia Zero Emission Community (AZEC) agreement.
Concluding the meeting, Prime Minister Chinh emphasized that Vietnam has become a bright spot in delivering climate commitments, which have been quickly integrated and concretized into legal documents, policies, strategies, and plans for coordinated implementation.
International cooperation in green growth and energy transition has been promoted, Vietnam has become more attractive to foreign investors in climate change response and energy transition with specific projects. The Prime Minister said making COP26 commitments and joining the JETP Declaration is the right policy and an opportunity for Vietnam to develop. Therefore, he urged for greater determination, greater efforts, and all resources to serve green growth.
