(VOVWORLD) - Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh has requested intensified measures against COVID-19 as the number of new cases rises across the country.

In a dispatch released by the Government Office on Sunday, the PM demanded that provinces and centrally-run cities ensure safe adaptation to, and flexible and effective control of, the pandemic, and prepare scenarios for pandemic prevention and control. The Health Ministry and the Defense Ministry were urged to help localities administer vaccines as soon as possible. Oversight of pandemic prevention and control, especially at hospitals, production facilities, markets, railway and bus stations, and airports, must be strengthened, according to the dispatch.
