Mr. Chinh was speaking at Sunday’s conference marking one year of the province's implementation of the "Traffic Safety Province" initiative.

Bac Ninh authorities said that after one year of piloting the traffic safety initiative, the number of traffic accidents in the province had decreased by 16%, fatalities by 20%, and injuries by 19%. Key traffic accident hotspots were addressed, and speed bumps were installed at all road junctions.

The province has invested in building a Police Command Information Centre, which operates two camera systems to ensure traffic safety, fire prevention and crime prevention. The centre features advanced technologies such as an intelligent traffic command system, AI-based traffic violation detection and digital patrol management. The centre also supports accident investigation and data sharing with various sectors.

At the conference, PM Chinh outlined six key lessons in ensuring traffic safety. They include the importance of Party leadership and state management, the central role of the people in traffic safety efforts, the need for upgraded infrastructure, the use of modern technology in traffic management, the role of education in raising public awareness and the value of piloting successful models before expanding them nationwide.

He directed the Ministry of Public Security to continue researching and expanding the "Traffic Safety Province" initiative nationwide, with the ultimate goal of turning Vietnam into a country with safe traffic and a secure, orderly environment for both residents and visitors.
