In an interview with Vietnam News Agency, Prime Minister Han expected that the visit will be an opportunity to further political trust and deepen strategic cooperation between the two countries as leading cooperation partners in the region. It will also be an opportunity for the two sides to specifically assess the current status of implementing the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership Action Plan.

The Prime Minister affirmed that the Korean Government considers Vietnam a key partner in Korea-ASEAN Solidarity Initiative (KASI) and its Indo-Pacific Strategy. Therefore, Seoul is strengthening its strategic, practical and mutually beneficial partnership with Hanoi at the bilateral level as well as in the overall strategy with ASEAN, he added.

Mr. Han emphasized that Korea and Vietnam are inseparable cooperative partners in promoting sustainable economic development. Vietnam has become one of Korea's three most important trading partners and the two countries are aiming at a trade turnover of 150 billion USD by 2030. To achieve this goal, both need to ramp up cooperation in a production-centered direction and other fields such as economic security, science-technology, digital technology and climate change, according to the Korean PM.
