Poland, Italy support Vietnam to fight COVID-19

(VOVWORLD) - Vietnam has received 8 tons of COVID-19 medical equipment from Poland and 4 million USD from Poland and Italy to fight the COVID-19 pandemic.

A military transport plane landed in Tan Son Nhat airport to unload ventilators, electric breast pumps, heart monitors, and personal protective equipment such as anti-droplet goggles, gloves, and face masks.

800,000 doses of AstraZeneca vaccines that Italy donated to Vietnam through the COVAX facility will arrive in Vietnam next Monday.

COVAX is a global mechanism, co-led by the Coalition for Epidemic Preparedness and Innovations (CEPI), GAVI, the Vaccine Alliance, the WHO, and UNICEF. So far, COVAX has provided 243 million COVID-19 vaccine doses to 139 countries.
