Vietnam to receive COVID-19 vaccines from Poland

(VOVWORLD) - The Polish government will send COVID-19 vaccines to Vietnam on non-profit priciples, according to Chief of the Chancellery of the Prime Minister of Poland Michał Dworczyk.

Vaccines were one of the topics of a recent phone call between Vietnamese Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki, Ambassador to Poland Nguyen Hung said.

An initiative by the Polish-Vietnamese Parliamentary Group and the Poland-Vietnam Friendship Association, with support from Polish Ambassador to Vietnam Wojciech Gerwel and Vietnamese Ambassador to Poland Nguyen Hung, proposed the shipment of Poland's surplus COVID-19 vaccines to Vietnam.

The Embassy of Poland in Vietnam will also receive about 1,000 doses of COVID-19 vaccine to be administered to its Polish staff and to other Polish citizens currently living in Vietnam.
