(VOVWORLD) - The Politburo has requested that the newly reorganized commune-level administrative units begin operations from July 1, while at the provincial level, the deadline for completion of mergers is August 15.

On Monday, Permanent Member of the Party's Secretariat Tran Cam Tu, on behalf of the Politburo, signed and issued Conclusion No. 157 on the implementation of Resolutions and Conclusions of the Party Central Committee and Politburo regarding the restructuring of the administrative apparatus and units.
In the Conclusion, the Politburo assigned the Government Party Committee to lead and finalize the draft of a Decree on decentralization, delegation, and assignment of authority to two-tier local governments and a Decree on the functions, duties, and organizational structure of specialized agencies under the People’s Committees at both provincial and commune levels in alignment with the Politburo and Secretariat’s conclusions, particularly regarding decentralization and delegation.
The Politburo also emphasized the need to continue reviewing and promptly updating guidance on responsibilities and procedures for transferring duties during the reorganization of provincial and commune-level units, terminating district-level government operations and fully implementing the two-tier local government model by June 5, and finalizing personnel plans for Party Committees at the provincial level by June 15.
