Participants to the meeting signed an agreement to set up the Western Balkan Fund with the headquarters in the Albanian capital of Tirana.

The fund aims to resume these countries’ process to join the European Union, support joint activities to protect West Balkans’ border, and look for solutions to address the current influx of migrants from the Middle East and North Africa.

V4 leaders decided to contribute additional 400,000 euros to the EU Trust Fund to help African nations deal with the issues which are considered the roots of the current migration crisis to the Europe.

The Western Balkans include Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, Kosovo, Macedonia, Serbia, Croatia, and Slovenia.
