(VOV) – President Truong Tan Sang on Monday visited Commando Unit 1, Information Brigade 205 and Information and Communication Service on the occasion of Tet, the Lunar New Year.

The President asked the soldiers and cadres to do their best to fulfill the tasks assigned by the Party and State. Through the intercom channel of Brigade 205, President Sang heard the authorities of Truong Sa town and Nam Yet island reporting on Tet preparations on the island. Sang wished them all a happy new year: "On behalf of the Party and State, I wish all the soldiers, staff and people on the island a happy and successful new year. The whole country dedicates our trust and hope in islanders who are doing your best to have a more prosperous year".

While visiting Commando Unit 1 and the High Command, President Sang asked them to follow Vietnam’s revolutionary tradition of protecting national sovereignty.

The same day, the President visited Tay Tuu village, Tu Liem district, Hanoi, and inspected the new rural development model there. He praised the village’s efforts and asked them to duplicate the models to other localities. Sang wished the local Party Committee, authorities and the people a happy new year. He urged them to continue their new rural development program to raise the living standards of the people.
