Vietnam, he said, is a friendly, dynamic, and hospitable destination in the Asia–Pacific region, and a trusted, responsible partner of the international community in pursuit of lasting peace.
President Cuong described Vietnam-UN ties as a vivid example of partnership and mutual support, and said Vietnam-US relations embody a spirit of leaving the past behind, overcoming differences, looking to the future, and building a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership for peace, cooperation, and sustainable development on the basis of sincerity and mutual respect.
He paid tribute to overseas Vietnamese worldwide, including the community in the US, affirming that, wherever they live, they are an inseparable part of the Vietnamese nation. The President voiced confidence that the Vietnamese community in the US will continue to serve as ambassadors of friendship, fostering ties between Vietnam and the world.

Vietnam is determined to deepen friendship and cooperation with international partners, contribute to global politics, the global economy, and human civilization, and work with others to build a peaceful, stable, sustainable environment, he said.
UN Under-Secretary-General and High Representative for Disarmament Affairs Izumi Nakamitsu said that for eight decades Vietnam has risen from colonial rule to become a modern, prosperous, dynamic nation, grounded in its long history and rich cultural traditions.
