(VOVWORLD) - President Luong Cuong has praised the ambassadors of Canada and Iran for their contributions to fostering friendship and multifaceted cooperation between Vietnam and the two countries.

At a reception for outgoing Canadian Ambassador Shawn Perry Steil on Thursday, President Luong Cuong urged the two countries to strengthen cooperation in education and training, science and technology, intellectual property, and information and communications.

Receiving Iranian Ambassador Ali Akbar Nazari, President Cuong said Vietnam shares the hardships currently facing the Iranian people. He welcomed the recently reached ceasefire agreement among the involved parties and expressed hope that it would help bring peace and stability to the region.
President Cuong emphasized Vietnam’s consistent stance on resolving differences through dialogue based on international law.
