Prime Minister begins Myanmar visit, attends GMS summit
Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung left Hanoi on Monday arrived in Mandalay city, beginning his three-day official visit to Myanmar, where he will attend the 4th Greater Mekong Sub-region Summit. The PM was received at the airport by Head of Mandalay region, Ye Myint and Vietnamese Ambassador Chu Cong Phung.
PM Dung said Vietnam always values the traditional relationship between the two countries which has stood the test of time. He asked Mr. Ye Myint to create favorable conditions for Vietnamese businesses, who mostly invest in agriculture, mining and industry. In the afternoon, PM Dung, his wife and the entourage left Mandalay for Naypido capital. Later the same day, Myanmar President Thein Sein gave a banquet in honor of the Vietnamese PM and other foreign leaders, who will attend the 4th Greater Mekong Sub-region Summit on Tuesday.
