(VOVworld) - Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung on Thursday held talks with President of the National Assembly of People’s Power of Cuba Esteban Lazo Hermandez, and visited the staff of the Cuban
Institute of Friendship with the Peoples (ICAP), the Cuba-Vietnam Friendship Association, and the Vietnamese Embassy in Cuba.
During talks with Mr. Hermandez, Dung expressed his admiration for the achievements of the Cuban Party, State and people. The two leaders said that the bilateral ties were developing vigorously and deeply. The establishment of the Vietnam-Cuba Friendship Parliamentarian Group last July illustrated the strong relations between the two countries. Both sides affirmed that they would continue a policy of close coordination in the sharing of legislative experience.
Mr. Hermandez said that he hoped that the two countries will increase cooperation in economics, trade, investment and exchange development experiences.
The same day, Prime Minister Dung met the staff of the Cuban Institute of Friendship with the Peoples (ICAP). He told them that despite geographical distance, Vietnam has always followed developments in Cuba and has been delighted to see Cuba’s achievements over the last 55 years. He said Vietnam will always stand side by side with Cuba, while Vietnam and Cuba’s exemplary solidarity will last forever.
In a meeting with staff from the Vietnamese Embassy, Prime Minister Dung asked them to fulfill their mission of bridging and enhancing the Vietnamese-Cuban cooperation in all areas.
Earlier in the day, the Vietnamese delegation laid a wreath at the President Ho Chi Minh Monument in the Peace Park in Havana.
