Prime Minister receives Italy’s Minister of Infrastructure and Transport

(VOVworld) – Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc said the Vietnamese government supports Italian firms in developing long-term business plans and effectively carrying out projects in Vietnam.

At a meeting with Italy’s Minister of Infrastructure and Transport Graziano Delrio in Hanoi on Monday, Mr. Phuc urged Italian firms to invest in fields such as machine manufacturing, textiles and garments, footwear, wood processing, and support industries.
He encouraged the two countries to share information and help businesses implement public-private partnerships in seaport infrastructure and services development, railway transportation, and logistics services.
He also asked Italy to promote the early signing and ratification of the Vietnam-EU Free Trade Agreement and recognition by the EU of Vietnam’s market economy mechanism.

Minister Delrio said the Italian Government is proud to be a major EU partner of Vietnam and always considers Vietnam an important partner to foster multi-faceted relations with. Italy wants to accelerate joint programs and projects with Vietnam, especially in aviation and rail transportation.
