Senior public security, military officers promoted to General rank
(VOVWORLD) - Party General Secretary and President To Lam handed over promotion decisions to senior public security and military officers at a ceremony in Hanoi on Sunday.

Minister of Public Security Luong Tam Quang and Deputy Minister of National Defense Nguyen Tan Cuong have been promoted from the rank of Senior Lieutenant General to General.
Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People's Army Lieut. Gen. Nguyen Doan Anh has been promoted to Senior Lieutenant General.

Party leader and President Lam, who is also Secretary of the Central Military Commission, and Chairman of the National Defense and Security Council, said that the promotion shows the Party, State and people's deep trust in and attention to the armed forces.
It is also a recognition of the important contributions of the officers to the cause of building and developing the armed forces as well as the cause of national construction and defense, he said.
