(VOVWORLD) - Qatar is worried about the safety of its citizens heading to Mecca in Saudi Arabia amid tensions between the two countries.

Qatar worries that discrimination and aggression could emerge against Qatari people during this year’s Hajj, the Qatari Islamic Affairs Ministry said. The Ministry called on Riyadh to complete procedures to ensure the security of pilgrims traveling from Qatar.
Qatari media claimed that early in June Qataris were prevented from entering the Grand Mosque in Mecca.
