(VOVWORLD) - Quang Ninh province will organize a series of major cultural events in Yen Tu ward and a New Year countdown celebration in Ha Long ward.

The Heritage Journey cultural series in Yen Tu ward will take place from December 18–22, featuring a commemoration of the 717th anniversary of the attainment of nirvana by King-Monk Tran Nhan Tong, and a ceremony marking the inscription of the Yen Tu-Vinh Nghiem-Con Son-Kiep Bac Relic and Landscape Complex as a UNESCO World Cultural Heritage Site, in coordination with Bac Ninh province and Hai Phong city.
Nguyen Viet Dung, Director of the Quang Ninh Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, said: “Quang Ninh province will host a week-long program comprising interconnected events showcasing culture, cuisine, and the Truc Lam Zen Buddhist tradition, along with a series of concerts.”
The grand commemoration ceremony for King-Monk Tran Nhan Tong will take place on December 20, followed the same evening at 8 p.m.by an official certificate presentation at Minh Tam Square in the Yen Tu Relic Complex. The Yen Tu Festival “Heritage Journey, Global Essence” will be part of the week-long program.
The 2026 New Year Countdown celebration is scheduled for December 31 at 30/10 Square in Ha Long ward, with an expected attendance of 50,000 people. This will be Quang Ninh’s final major cultural tourism event of the year, climax in a year of numerous large-scale events.
