Reconstruction of disaster-hit houses must be completed by January 15: PM
(VOVWORLD) - Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh has set January 15, 2026 as the deadline for completing the reconstruction of all houses destroyed by recent floods and storms in the central region.

He issued the directive on Tuesday while chairing a conference on the “Quang Trung Campaign” to build and repair homes for affected families.
“Our goal is to complete the work ahead of January 15, 2026, in celebration of the 14th National Party Congress opening on January 19,” said PM Chinh. “By the time of the Congress, no household in the eight affected provinces whose homes were swept away, collapsed, or destroyed should be left without accommodation. The entire political system must mobilize all forces to finish the job.”
According to the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment, more than 670 of nearly 1,600 collapsed houses have been rebuilt, while 99.99% of over 34,000 damaged houses have been repaired.
