(VOVworld) - The Republic of Korea (RoK)’s Ministry of Strategy and Finance approved on Tuesday a 77 million USD loan for irrigation system upgrade projects in Vietnam’s Thanh Hoa and Nghe An province. The loan will be provided through the Economic Development Cooperation Fund. The two projects will construct dykes and canals to bring water from Thanh Hoa’s Len river and Nghe An’s Hoang Mai river to water local fields, while improving the ecological environment and coping with climate change and a rising sea level. They have a total capital of 105 million USD, of which 77 million USD is provided by the Republic of Korea and 28 million is from Vietnam.
