RoK seeks regional cooperation on supply chain at APEC meeting

(VOVWORLD) - The Republic of Korea called for stronger regional cooperation in ensuring stability in global supply chains during last week’s informal session of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC), its foreign ministry said Monday.

Lee Seong-ho, Deputy Foreign Minister for Economic Affairs, attended the Senior Officials Meeting on the Thai island of Phuket last week, along with officials from 20 other APEC economies.

Lee expressed his hope that in 2022 discussions will be revitalized regarding the stability of supply chains in the Asia-Pacific region and safe cross-border, the Ministry said in a press release.

Participants vowed to accelerate economic recovery after the pandemic subsides, and discussed resuming travel between countries and stepping up cooperation for sustainable and comprehensive growth.
